The Rotary Club of Airlie Beach has been an integral part of the Airlie Beach community for almost 37 years. During that time, its members, current and former local business and professional people, have played a key role in the growth and development of the area through the club’s support of a wide range of community groups, individuals and events. The club and its members therefore have a vested interest in the future growth and development of the community, both economically and socially.

We are therefore proud to present the first in a series of Rotary business networking events for our community, to build connections and start conversations amongst community stakeholders to assist in ensuring the best for our community and its people, now and into the future.

To head up our first networking evening, we are pleased to announce that our keynote speaker will be Garry Scanlan, CEO of the Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3).

The Greater Whitsunday Alliance has hit the ground sprinting since coming into existence in January 2017, and is quickly becoming the respected regional economic development advocate across the Greater Whitsunday Region.

GW3 is consistently calling for an equitable share of funding from all levels of Government for the Region, and is creating linkages, alliances and collaborating with key stakeholders, industry and Government to facilitate and promote sustainable regional economic development opportunities.

During his presentation, Mr Scanlan will outline what has been achieved since the inception of the GW3, and what the regional opportunities, challenges and priorities are going forward, in particular for the Airlie Beach and Proserpine communities.

This is an event not to be missed by all business people in the Airlie Beach / Proserpine area. The evening will begin with an opportunity to network over drinks and canapes, and will be followed by Mr Scanlan’s presentation, with plenty of opportunity for questions, discussion and input from the floor.
